Professional Experience
Nicholas is an experienced technology entrepreneur and is Senior Technology Advisor to Meridian and its clients. He has sustained a strong passion for building useful products over his many years of technology industry experience, and has operated in leadership, strategic product vision, operations-oriented and full-stack engineering roles spanning the fields of digital commerce, fintech, payments, enterprise software and various SaaS-oriented technologies. Most recently, Nicholas founded and scaled a digital commerce platform called SkyMode where he developed and pioneered a cross-merchant, cross-channel, universal and networked 1-click checkout experience for merchants and consumers as he and his team worked to level the playing field for all commerce participants. Meridian served as an advisor to SkyMode, and Nicholas quickly developed an appreciation for Meridian’s tenacity and dedication to clients. Nicholas has had an active background in finance and before entrepreneurship he spent several years working in technology venture financial advisory in the Silicon Valley, including M&A and private capital transactions. Nicholas’ technology expertise allows him to engage other technologists and delivery relevant strategic advice as they consider liquidity events, as he serves as a reliable bridge between Meridian’s technology clients and the advisory services available to them, delivering insights learned from various perspectives.
Community Service and Involvement
Nicholas’ activities outside of his technology professional life vary broadly, ranging from his interest in philosophical ideas to his passion for music to his love for fitness and athletics. He studied music in his youth and at university and is a trained classical pianist having performed various concerts over time, and still spends a portion of his time developing his artistic interests. If he’s not head deep into tech work or at the piano or thinking away, he’s likely to be found in the gym exploring creative and practical movements, or moving up or down a mountain in some kind of way.
