Professional Experience
James advises middle market business owners on a range of corporate finance services, including preparing for a business transition, ownership succession, assisting with a company sale, making strategic acquisitions, and raising capital for growth. While his clients span a number of industries, James primarily focuses on the food and agribusiness, construction and engineering, and manufacturing and distribution industries related to these verticals. James’ prior experience includes over 15 years of M&A and capital markets activity. Prior to joining Meridian Capital, James was a Partner at Moss Adams Capital, a leading business advisor to family-run businesses preparing for and completing transactions. Prior to Moss Adams, James was the Director of Finance at a consumer products company, and an Associate at a middle market private equity firm based in the Pacific Northwest, where he completed numerous M&A and private placement transactions.
Education & Certification
James received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Washington, Michael G. Foster School of Business. Prior to earning his MBA, James completed his Chartered Financial Analyst designation (Inactive) in 2012. James also received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Administration from the University of Washington, Michael G. Foster School of Business. James holds his series 63 and series 79 licenses with FINRA.
Community Service and Involvement
James is actively involved with programs supporting young-adult education in underserved communities (Year-Up) and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A native of the Pacific Northwest, James lives with his wife, daughter, and son in Seattle. In his spare time, James is an avid golfer, enjoys attending live sporting events and music concerts, and traveling to Europe and Asia.
